Synopsis
The original opens with a presentation depicting humanity as a crude and profoundly despondent species just as the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy which gives data on each planet in the world. Earthman Arthur Dent rises and shines in his home in West Country, England, to find that the nearby arranging committee is attempting to obliterate his home to fabricate a detour and rests before the tractor to stop it. His companion Ford Prefect—an outsider analyst for Guide from a little planet nearby Betelgeuse who has been acting like a jobless entertainer from Guildford for quite some time—persuades the lead official Mr. Prosser to rests before the tractor for Arthur so he can get him six pints of lager at the bar. The development team starts wrecking the house in any case, yet stop when an armada of outsider spaceships shows up on Earth undetected by human space organizations. The Vogons, an unfeeling race of government workers running the armada, report that they have come to crush Earth to clear a path for a hyperspace turnpike. Portage and Arthur hitch a ride from the Dentrassis, who fill in as the cooks on the armada, and are permitted onto a spaceship making a trip to Barnard's Star. They are immediately found by the Vogons, who torment them by compelling them to pay attention to their verse and afterward remove them from an isolated space.
In the interim Zaphod Beeblebrox, Ford's "semi-cousin" and the President of the Galaxy, takes the spaceship Heart of Gold at its revealing with his human buddy, Trillian. The Heart of Gold is empowered with an "Limitless Improbability Drive" that permits it to go momentarily to any point in space by all the while going through each point in the universe immediately. In the wake of being thrown into space Arthur and Ford are safeguarded by the Heart of Gold as it goes with the Infinite Improbability Drive. Zaphod takes his travelers—Arthur, Ford, a discouraged robot named Marvin, and Trillian—to an unbelievable planet known as Magrathea. Magrathea was said to have been a planet whose occupants had some expertise in custom-building planets for other people, however made themselves become rich as the remainder of the system became poor and vanished. Despite the fact that Ford at first questions that the planet is Magrathea, the planet's PCs send them cautioning messages to leave prior to terminating two atomic rockets at the Heart of Gold. Arthur unintentionally saves them by enacting the Infinite Improbability Drive inappropriately, making the Heart of Gold stay in Magrathea and for the rockets to change into a sperm whale and a bowl of petunias. The whale, which ineffectively attempts to figure out its reality as it tumbles to the surface, opens an entry underground on its effect. As the boat handles Trillian's pet mice Frankie and Benjy escape.
