The Bourne Supremacy is the second Jason Bourne novel composed by Robert Ludlum, first distributed in 1986. It is the continuation of Ludlum's smash hit The Bourne Identity (1980) and goes before Ludlum's last Bourne novel, The Bourne Ultimatum (1990).

Synopsis
In the main book, The Bourne Identity, the title character endures amnesia. Throughout the book, he recaptures his memory with the assistance of a Canadian business analyst, Marie St Jacques, and in the end observes that his genuine name was David Webb. He had recently been a usable of the CIA in a world class project in Southeast Asia and Vietnam codenamed Medusa. Following the American powers' withdrawal from Vietnam, he joined Project Treadstone 71, where he was utilized as snare for the notorious Venezuelan professional killer Carlos the Jackal, and expected the identity of a false professional killer, Jason Bourne. "Bourne" assumed acknowledgment for different kills in China and the remainder of Asia, going about as an adversary to the Jackal, to coax him back into public.
The account of The Bourne Supremacy is set during the British arranged handover of Hong Kong to the People's Republic of China on the lapse of its long term rent on the New Territories.
Bourne has recuperated from the vast majority of his psychological and actual wounds and is showing Asian examinations at a college in Maine under his genuine name of David Webb, living cheerfully nearby with Marie under oversight of therapist Morris Panov.
