Synopsis

As You Like It follows its courageous woman Rosalind as she escapes abuse in her uncle's court, joined by her cousin Celia to track down wellbeing and, in the long run, love, in the Forest of Arden. In the woodland, they experience an assortment of critical characters, outstandingly the despairing explorer Jaques, who talks large numbers of Shakespeare's most renowned addresses, (for example, "All the world's a phase", "an overdose of something that is otherwise good" and "An idiot! A numb-skull! I met a numb-skull in the timberland"). Jaques gives a sharp contrast to different characters in the play, continuously noticing and questioning the difficulties of life in the country.

By and large, critical reaction has fluctuated, with certain critics tracking down the play a work of incredible merit and a viewing it as of lesser quality than other Shakespearean works. The play has been adjusted for radio, film, and melodic theater.
